Position Summary

The Ultrasonographer contributes fully to the provision of patient focused, safe, efficient, quality imaging within the health care facility.

  • Perform all general diagnostic ultrasound procedures as required and offered at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
  • Comply with all legislation, policies procedures, protocols and guidelines defined by government agencies, hospital and imaging department.
  • Perform all diagnostic procedures and related processes in all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound imaging.
  • Provide pre and post examination patient care to all diagnostic ultrasound patients.
  • Attend and utilize team meetings, in-service and educational programs as available.
  • Proficient in the use of departmental electronic information systems.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Provide orientation and information to clinical placement students.
  • Ensures patient safety and infection prevention and control relating to the position.

Qualifications

  • Post -Secondary Diploma in Medical Ultrasound Technology required.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) required.
  • Current registration with Sonography Canada required.
  • Proof of professional liability insurance required.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a medical ultrasound technologist preferred.
  • Prenatal Screening NT preferred.
  • Must have the knowledge, skills and judgement to perform procedures undertaken in the course of their practice of the profession.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage time effectively and produce accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player.
  • Committed to service excellence while meeting the patient/staff needs efficiently.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients and stakeholders. 
  • High level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.

Other Pertinent Conditions

  • Salary Range: $32.99/hour to $45.56/hour
  • Must be available to work all shifts as required, which will include: evenings, weekends, statutory holidays,
