Message from Larry Phillips – Board Chair

You are making a difference!

A big thank you to our wonderful community for your continued support, and to our tireless Hospital Staff, Board Members and the Foundation. Together you are all making a difference improving healthcare locally.

Each year the Foundation makes an annual commitment with the Hospital to fund the Highest Priority Capital Equipment. This venture helps provide much needed replacement equipment and new technology to improve care and quality of life. This year, I’m pleased to announce one of our biggest transfers of funds, $1.3 Million to the hospital, all thanks to you, our donors, over the past few years.

Your continued interest and generous gifts throughout a challenging 2020, helped purchase not only the prioritized Capital Equipment, but additional much needed equipment and important safety systems. The prioritized Capital Equipment included: Diagnostic Endoscopes, Diagnostic Ultra Sound Probes, Specialized Blood Bank Freezer and the Wireless Workstation on wheels with the Vital Signs Monitors. The additional equipment included: a new safety and security alarm system for patient and staff safety, a new secure key card entry system (currently being installed) and some new Orthopedic Surgical equipment. All this equipment is necessary to provide better healthcare for you and your loved ones.

I’d like to share some very exciting news about our Orthopedic Surgical Program. With your help we can grow and expand the program from the current clinic to general procedures, leading up to the possibility of larger surgeries like hip and knee replacements within a couple of years. This is exciting for our community. Some key items of the 2021 Capital Equipment requirement along with some of the main Orthopedic Surgical equipment is described in our 2021 Capital Equipment Campaign.

We are asking for your continued support to help fund our annual Capital Equipment priorities and for this exciting growth opportunity in Orthopedic Surgery right here in Tillsonburg.

To help with the additional equipment needs, I’m pleased to announce the launch of our new 50/50 monthly raffle. Further details are in this report and can be found at www.tillsonburghospital5050.ca

This year our Donor Wall will acknowledge some 21 new names along with our Donors from 2020 who have moved up to the next Donor Level. We thank all our Donors! Due to COVID restrictions, the names will be added to our Donor Wall along with our 2019 Donors and will be recognized at a later event when we can gather again safely.
